How to Cook Homemade Pizza in the Microwave

Appliance companies such as LG and Kenmore have created microwaves that are designed specifically to allow you to cook homemade pizza without using the time and energy of a conventional oven. These appliances feature a pizza drawer below the traditional microwave chamber that is designed to cook pizza, especially pizza crust, properly. By using one of these microwaves to cook your homemade pizza, you can conserve energy and make a quick but delicious meal for yourself and your family.

Instructions

1 Prepare the pizza for the microwave. Either make your own dough or roll out store bought dough. Ladle pizza sauce onto rolled out dough. Add desired toppings.

2 Place the pizza in the pizza drawer of your microwave. If the microwave comes with a removable plate, you can assemble the pizza on the plate. If not, use a wooden or plastic pizza paddle and then use a spatula to slide the pizza into the pizza drawer.
3 Select the appropriate auto cook button on the microwave. Both the LG and the Kenmore models offer four settings: frozen rising crust, frozen regular crust, fresh regular dough, and fresh par-baked crust.
4 Carefully remove the pizza from the pizza drawer once the cooking cycle has finished. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and eating.
