No need for any more drama about whether or not Jennifer Lawrence's Christian Dior Couture dress ripped at Sunday night's SAG Awards ceremony. Your eyes saw something else.
Internet reports were in overdrive overnight and this morning as suggestions were made that Lawrence ripped her gown when she appeared to show some leg as she made her way to the stage to pick up the SAG award for outstanding performance by a female actor in Silver Linings Playbook.
We can close the book on all of that chatter.
A spokesperson at Christian Dior Couture confirms that there was no rip and therefore, no malfunction. "The dress is made with different levels of tulle and satin and that is what the viewers saw when Jennifer lifted her dress slightly. It was not ripped and there was no malfunction...it was the design of the gown," a statement from the fashion design house said.
