Northern Iowa wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield did not receive an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last month. Instead, he went to the University of Minnesota’s pro day on Monday and for the 13 teams who showed up with scouts, they came away impressed.
Sinkfield, who is originally from Hopkins, Minn., ran the 40-yard dash in a reported 4.19 seconds during one of his attempts, according to Fox Sports North. He stumbled on another attempt and still clocked in at 4.41 seconds.
During Sinkfield’s senior season, he led Northern Iowa in receiving with 43 catches for 499 yards and four touchdowns.
“It hasn’t really hit me yet,” said Sinkfield, who also had a 40.5 inch vertical at Monday’s pro day. “I feel like I could have hit it consistently. Me, myself, my personal best, I think I could have done better. It was still a good show here.”
“I knew it was good when I finished,” he said. “I was pretty happy, so I came back. I thought I messed up when they said go again. I’m like, ‘Dang, why do I have to run again?’”
