Multiple car accidents have been reported Monday morning on slick, icy roadways in Washtenaw County.
At least five accidents have occurred in the area, including: westbound M-14 at Curtis Road, eastbound Interstate 94 at Baker Road, westbound M-14 at Barton Drive, eastbound I-94 at Rawsonville Road and southbound U.S. 23 and Geddes Road, according to an AnnArbor.com report.
Road crews have been working since Sunday afternoon to remove slush, and Jim Harmon, director of operations for the county's road commission, told AnnArbor.com that trucks will transition from freeways and surface roads into subdivisions by the afternoon.
The weather also prompted hundreds of schools across southeastern Michigan to close Monday morning, including: Ann Arbor Public Schools, Chelsea School District, Dexter Community Schools, Manchester Community Schools, Milan Area Schools, Saline Area Schools, Willow Run Community Schools, Ypsilanti School District and more.
