The bombshell blond is a skiing staple in the sports world, but any sort of union to Woods could propel her to the most-watched rungs of the Hollywood totem pole.
"Unless she's been living under a rock, she probably knows about his track record," says Dorothy Cascerceri, Senior Editor at In Touch Weekly.
The scandal that rocked the golf world with the revelation of Woods' infidelity ended up being one of the biggest celebrity divorce payouts in history, after his ex-wife Elin Nordegren received upwards of $100 million. It also damaged the golfer's public image in potentially irreparable ways.
"Anyone that is linked to him now is probably going to suffer in some way because of that," Cascerceri said. "But this could take her from a place of obscurity, and make her sort of a household name."
Of course Vonn isn't a total nobody, especially after winning gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics, and also being briefly linked to Tim Tebow at the height of his fame in 2011, but she hasn't reached the level of attention that fellow athletes Maria Sharapova or Lolo Jones attained. A romance with Woods would certainly get her there.
"I think people are always going to care about Tiger Woods." Cascerceri said. "But I would be surprised if he got into a long-term relationship. Since the scandal happened he's been really focusing on his golf game and winning back fans and sponsors."
And despite all the speculation, Vonn's main concern is also on her sport.
"Lindsey is currently in the midst of the World Cup season in Europe. " A rep for Vonn told the Daily News. "Her focus is solely on competing and on defending her titles and thus she will not participate in any speculation surrounding her personal life at this time."
